Baked Halloumi

Ingredients

  • 1 piece of halloumi cheese
  • 1 can of tomatoes
  • 1 onion
  • 1 garlic clove
  • ½ cup of olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper
  • 6-7 black olives
  • Mint leaves

Instructions:

  • Sauté the onion, garlic, and olive oil until softened. Add the canned tomatoes, salt, and black pepper, then let it simmer on low heat.In a pan, sear one side of the halloumi until it turns golden.

 

  • Place the halloumi into a baking dish and pour the tomato sauce over it. Bake in the oven at 180°C (350°F) for 15 minutes.

 

  • After baking, garnish with black olives and fresh mint leaves.
