Halloumi "Katsu Sando"

Ingredients

  • 1 piece of halloumi
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 hot peppers
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 hot peppers

Instructions:

  • Prepare the Halloumi:

    Coat the halloumi first in flour, then dip in the beaten egg, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs. Fry in deep oil until golden brown.

  • Prepare the Spicy Pepper Jam:

    Chop the peppers and place them in a pan. Add the sugar, apple cider vinegar, and water. Cook over low heat until the mixture thickens.

  • Prepare the Cole Slaw:

    Grate the carrot and mix it with the finely chopped cabbage. Add mayonnaise, salt, and black pepper, and mix well.

  • Assemble the Sandwich:

    Place the cole slaw and fried halloumi between slices of toasted bread. Cook both sides in a pan until golden brown. Cut the sandwich into four pieces and serve with the spicy pepper jam.
